After passing his architecture exam in August, Cory Nelson has become the newest licensed architect at CTA Architects Engineers, simultaneously realizing a goal that was born in a sixth grade art class. Nelson has served as an architect-in-training, specializing in commercial projects, since joining CTA in July 2012. He holds two architectural degrees from Washington State University.

Nelson’s work has spanned the geography of several CTA offices; among his most prominent projects are a WinCo Foods store in Surprise, Ariz.; a Whole Foods Market in Houston, Texas; and a PetSmart building shell in Nampa, Idaho.

Tom Calla, CTA Architectural department manager, has overseen Nelson’s work over the past two years, calling him a dedicated and talented designer. “Cory’s a huge asset to CTA’s architectural team,” he adds. “We are thrilled to congratulate him on the accomplishment of a lifelong goal, and look forward to the outstanding designs he will continue to create long into the future.”
