Project Overview:

Despite a Level 3 designation with high-tech equipment, St. Vincent's 20-year-old NICU lacked room to move about and was deficient in storage space, practical usage areas, and a supportive interior. Assessment of the existing 1,152 square feet led to the kind of forward thinking design that will take this Women's and Children's Pavilion far into the future.

Besides 20 full bassinet stations under a canopy of green, there are new family support areas and an entry lobby. Most importantly, the custom, state-of-the-art stations provide medical staff with a highly efficient workspace that is as functional as it is creative and healing. In the lobby, poetry and environmental graphics on doors and windows invite visitors to enter and encourage patients to "grow and bloom in the Healing Garden."
